private sector
West Island helped Woolworths set up their Far East print
packaging procurement operations. At no additional cost to the client,
staffing an in-house post, they monitored artwork requirements liaising
directly with buying teams. They also produced the repro coordinating
the print operations.
Simultaneously a specification was written enabling this work to be
produced in Hong Kong. Work continues today at West Island monitoring
corporate style and producing repro for labels and swing tags.
health and education
In March 2004 our design partners developed a concept package
for the British Nutrition Foundation to help promote healthier packed
lunches in schools. Part of a pilot program in the counties surrounding
London. Their involvement included: project management, concept development
and design, art direction and photography, plus finished artwork. Production
featured long run litho print for a multi poster campaign and accompanying
literature, plus short run digitally printed brochures. All items where
collated in sets and delivered with back-up materials supplied on disk.
charities
Group partner Creation (formerly J. Arthur Dixon) worked with
the Samaritans to provide support packages tailored to meet the individual
needs of the their clients. Initially working with various supplied materials
the group soon became more deeply involved taking over the entire production
and storage of the materials in a secure environment. Upon request packages
where individually assembled before dispatch directly to clients, or
the organisations various support centres around the UK.
